K J Patel is the Managing Director of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), a position he assumed in July 2025 following a distinguished career spanning over four decades in the fertiliser and cooperative sector. A Mechanical Engineering graduate from Saurashtra University, Patel began his journey with IFFCO as a Graduate Engineer Apprentice in 1985 and steadily rose through the ranks, demonstrating exceptional leadership and technical acumen.

He is widely recognized for transforming IFFCO’s Paradeep unit—the country’s largest integrated fertiliser complex—during his tenure as Plant Head, where he resolved operational inefficiencies, modernised infrastructure, and restored industrial harmony. His expertise extends across nitrogenous and phosphatic fertiliser plants, with deep knowledge in maintenance, reliability, operations, and project management.

Prior to becoming MD, Patel served as Director (Technical) at IFFCO’s headquarters, overseeing national and international operations, sustainability initiatives, and technological upgrades. He also holds board positions in 10 Indian and 4 overseas companies, reflecting his strategic influence across IFFCO’s diverse portfolio, which includes fertilisers, insurance, e-commerce, and green energy ventures like green hydrogen. A homegrown leader, Patel embodies IFFCO’s cooperative values and farmer-first mission. Known for his quiet determination, ethical leadership, and commitment to innovation, he is now steering IFFCO into a new era of sustainable agriculture and global competitiveness.
