Ms. Sahar Farraj

Ms. Sahar Farraj is a cooperative leader with over 30 years of experience in community development and women’s economic empowerment in Palestine. Beginning her journey with the Kalandia Camp Women’s Handicraft Cooperative, she has dedicated her career to creating sustainable livelihoods for marginalized women through innovation and collective enterprise.
As President of the Handicraft & Agro-Food Processing Cooperative Union, she promotes traditional Palestinian food practices such as herb drying, olive oil production, and vegetable pickling—linking cultural heritage with economic resilience. Her leadership advances food security, women’s entrepreneurship, and the preservation of Palestine’s rich culinary traditions across the West Bank and Gaza.
