2008 ICA-AP Regional Assembly was held at Melia Hotel in Hanoi (Vietnam) on 5th December 2008. The meeting of the Regional Assembly was chaired by Mr. Li Chunsheng, Chairman of Regional Assembly. 195 participants from 24 countries and three international organizations attended the meeting.
The joint opening ceremony of 2008 Regional Assembly and Coop Forum was held at My Dinh National Convention Center in the afternoon of 3rd December which was attended by more than 900 people. The inaugural address was delivered by H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong, Chairman, National Assembly of Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The minutes of the last meeting held in Colombo (Sri Lanka) on 18th August 2006 were confirmed. According to the new Rules of ICA approved by the Special General Assembly at Rome on 6th June 2007, ICA-AP also revised its Rules. The Regional Assembly unanimously approved the new Rules of ICA-AP. The Regional Assembly also approved the Constitution of the ICA-AP Committees on Cooperative Research and University/Campus Cooperatives.
The Regional Director presented the account of the ICA-AP activities carried out from January to November and also presented the financial report for the period January to September 2008.
The Regional Director placed before the house the ICA-AP Strategic Plan/ Multi-Annual Budget for 2009-2012 and the Work Plan for 2009 which was unanimously approved.
Pursuant to the termination of the tenure of ICA-AP erstwhile Standing Committee and now the Regional Board, following were elected to the ICA-AP Board for the period 2009-2012.

The proposal of All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives (ACFSMC) to host the next meeting of ICA-AP Regional Assembly in China in 2010 was accepted by the house.
