The Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) celebrated International Youth Day with a successful webinar under the theme "Green Skills for Youth toward a Sustainable World". A total of 134 youth delegates from Australia, India, Indonesia, Mongolia, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam participated and actively engaged in discussions and activities.

 

ACCU invited Ms. Lasallette Gumban, the unit head of NATCCO Advocacy, as the speaker who delivered an insightful presentation. She shed light on the significance of green skills for young individuals, their connection to cooperatives, and why they play a vital role in shaping a sustainable future. She elaborated on various aspects like:
 

  • Defining green skills and their relevance to co-ops
  • Highlighting the importance of green skills for the youth
  • Identifying the different types of green skills that young people can cultivate
  • Discussing how cooperatives can actively promote green skills among their youth members
