ICA-AP and the Laxmanrao Inamdar National Academy for Cooperative Research and Development (LINAC) of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), India collaborate to establish a knowledge exchange platform for cooperatives.

On 18 January 2022, ICA-AP regional office signed an MoU for technical collaboration with NCDC-LINAC. The MoU is intended to build mutual cooperation between ‘LINAC’ and ‘ICA-AP’ for technical collaboration, to learn, assimilate and develop further on the core strengths, experience and institutional objectives of the respective parties in the interest of the advancement of research, study, documentation and training for the development of the cooperative sector. On behalf of ICA-AP, Mr. Balasubramanian Iyer, Regional Director signed the MoU and Lt. Col. Dr. Baljit Singh, Chief Director, LINAC Gurugram for NCDC-LINAC.

At the signing-off ceremony, ICA-AP President, Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav and NCUI President Shri Dileep Sanghani jointly released a policy recommendation handbook on SAHAKAR PRAGYA Good Practices for Cooperatives based on a brainstorming session on International Good Practices Platform for Cooperatives conducted earlier in November by LINAC. It is expected to help cooperatives in India and abroad to innovate and adopt the best models not only to stay competitive but also to distinguish themselves as successful commercial entities. Mr. Sundeep Nayak, Managing Director of NCDC and Shri. DN Thakur, National President of Sahakar Bharati were also present at the function held at NCDC headquarters.

ICA-AP would provide technical support to LINAC in setting up a SAHKAR PRAGYA CENTER ON GOOD PRACTICES. A compendium of guidelines, resources, methodologies, key learning, case studies of the best performing cooperatives in India and abroad and the outcome and impact, the handbook would serve as an action plan that can help these entities to achieve the goal of self-reliance.
