The ICA AP Gender Programme has organised a Workshop on “Enhancing the Role of Women in Co-operative Business” for women and men cooperative leaders of our region from 8-10 September 2009 in Manila, Philippines.

The consultations during the workshop focused upon cooperative endeavour to promote women’s interests for gender mainstreaming in cooperatives. The 3 days programme consists of one day workshop followed by 2 days study visits to few successful cooperative businesses in the country.

A group of about 15 women and men cooperators from India, China, Nepal, Japan and Malaysia participated in the programme to have an exposure of gender focused best practices in Filipino cooperatives.
