The 2nd meeting of the ICA-AP Committee on Trade & Business for 2022 was held online on 14 September and attended by 11  representatives from six countries namely Malaysia, Iran, Philippines, Korea, Nepal and China.

Datuk Seri Dr. Abdul Fattah Haji Abdullah, Committee Chairman and President of ANGKASA and the ASEAN Cooperative Organization (ACO), chaired the online meeting.

 

The meeting unanimously agreed on outlining the Three-Year Strategic Plan geared towards stimulating business growth and development as well as supporting business interaction and information in the Asia-Pacific Region. The Strategic Plan include efforts to increase membership and promote active participation of members, promote the growth and development of trade and business, and strengthen and enhance business connections and networking among members. The plan was presented by Dr. Noraini Mohamad, representative of the ICA-AP Trade and Business Working Committee and General Manager of the International Affairs Division (BHEA), ANGKASA.

 

There was  a presentation by the secretary of the ICA-AP Trade and Business Committee, Ms. Wan Azwati on the upcoming event, Cooperative to Cooperative (C-2-C) Trade & Business Conference on Demand vs. Opportunities in Cooperative Business: Bridging the Gap through Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), to be held on 30 November and 1 December 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

 

The Committee also had election of Office Bearers at the end of the meeting. Datuk Seri Dr. Abdul Fattah retained his position as the Chairman, while Mr. Gyan Bahadur Tamang from Nepal was elected as the Vice Chairman of the Committee for the period of 2022-2025.
