The National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NACF), Korea held the NACF-ICAO Workshop on “Smart and Digital Agriculture for Sustainability” from 8 to 12 November in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
 

The workshop was organised for the members of the International Cooperative Agricultural Organisation (ICAO) to share knowledge and experiences on the digital transition. It had a capacity building seminar on digitalization and several field visits including an agricultural museum and the NACF Smart Agriculture Support Center.
 

During the workshop, NACF introduced its efforts to support the digital transition of its members. NACF is providing digital farming technology to cooperatives in 15 countries around the world. In addition, it requested support from global agricultural cooperatives to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan, Republic of Korea.
 

The opening ceremony was attended by 46 representatives from 17 agriculture cooperatives from 15 countries, including Sung-Hee Lee, ICAO President and NACF Chairman; Mieczyslaw Grodzki (NCC, Poland) and Ivan Asiimwe (UCA, Uganda), ICAO Vice-Presidents; and Christie Rowena Plantilla (FPSDC, Philippines), ICAO’s executive member. In addition, Aysegul Selisik, Central Asia Deputy Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and Tang Shengyao, Director of the Liaison Office in the Republic of Korea,  attended the workshop.
