The National Association of Mongolian Agricultural Cooperatives held its 9th General Assembly on 28 October. Over 140 delegates and 30 guests from 21 provinces and Ulaanbaatar city attended the general assembly, which is held every 4 years. This year, it was organized with the 30th anniversary of NAMAC since it has been re-organized.

 

The Assembly discussed the implementation of NAMAC’s Blueprint between 2014-2022 which was 82.6% so far. NAMAC has also developed its long-term strategy for 2022-2030 which was approved by its members. The strategy focuses on 11 goals at 3 different levels – the NAMAC (central) level, branch level and at the member cooperatives' level. This strategy is majorly focused on members’ business activities and improvement of their income.

 

The General Assembly also approved the amendment of Bylaw of NAMAC. As per the newly approved Bylaw, NAMAC can have a President, an Executive Director, 49 Board Members and a Supervisory Board consisting of 5 members. Thus, there was an election for the President and Supervisory Board and Mrs. Altantuya Tseden-Ish, the former Vice-President, has been elected as a first ever women president of NAMAC.
