ICA-AP in collaboration with its Committee on Women and Committee on Forestry is hosting a virtual side event at the UN NGO Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) 66 Forum.
NGO CSW Forum is held in parallel to UN CSW, the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. NGO CSW Forum provides civil society organisations with the opportunity to engage in the processes and events of CSW. This year, it is happening virtually from 13 to 25 March 2022 on the priority theme, ‘Achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction policies and programmes.’

The event will deliberate upon the impact of natural disasters on cooperatives, especially on women cooperators, and interventions adopted by them in two thematic sessions, which are
Session 1: Natural disasters in Asia-Pacific: Individual impact but collective response by cooperatives
Session 2: Safeguarding the future: Making people climate resilient by future proofing cooperatives
