ICA ASIA-PACIFIC COOPERATIVE EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2025
The ICA-AP Regional Office is pleased to announce the ICA Asia-Pacific Cooperative Excellence Awards 2025.
These awards were established in 2023 to honour outstanding individuals and cooperative organizations that have made remarkable contributions to the growth of cooperatives and have significantly benefited the cooperative movement.
By acknowledging the extraordinary efforts and achievements of these exceptional entities, the ICA Asia-Pacific Cooperative Excellence Awards aim to foster a culture of excellence and innovation within the cooperative sector.
AWARD CATEGORIES
This year, the awards will be presented in two distinct categories: Inspirational Cooperative Leader and Enterprising Cooperative.
1. Inspirational Cooperative Leader: This award will recognize an exceptional individual who has demonstrated exemplary leadership, vision, and dedication to the cooperative movement. The recipient of this award will have played a pivotal role in driving positive change, championing the cooperative identity, promoting cooperation, and inspiring others within the movement. The award is open to cooperators from ICA-AP member organizations or their members/affiliates who inspire others as role models, leaders, and mentors. Self-nomination is not allowed for this category.
2. Enterprising Cooperative: This award will acknowledge a primary cooperative organization that has showcased outstanding performance, innovation, and sustainable growth. The recipient cooperative will have successfully implemented initiatives that have had a significant impact on the cooperative movement, fostering economic empowerment, social development, and environmental sustainability. ICA-AP members can nominate primary cooperatives, or if a primary cooperative self-nominates, the nomination should be endorsed by an ICA-AP member organization.
NOMINATION PROCESS
ICA-AP Regional Office invites nominations from cooperative organizations and outstanding individuals across the Asia-Pacific region.
For the Inspirational Cooperative Leader category, the nominations will be open for ICA-AP member organizations that can nominate outstanding individuals from their organizations and those of their member organizations and affiliates.
For the Enterprising Cooperative category, nominations will be open for primary cooperatives that are either members of ICA-AP or are endorsed by ICA-AP members.
The nomination applications should elaborate upon and share specific examples of the nominee’s achievements as per the judging criteria for each category. The applications should justify why the nominee deserves the award.
All entries must be submitted online to the ICA-AP Regional Office by October 06, 2025.
SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process for the ICA Asia-Pacific Cooperative Excellence Awards will be rigorous and transparent, ensuring that deserving individuals and cooperative organizations receive the recognition they truly deserve.
A distinguished Review Committee of experts and leaders from the cooperative sector will be responsible for evaluating the nominations and selecting the winners.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS
The winners will be announced at the 17th ICA-AP Regional Assembly Welcome Dinner on November 26, 2025, in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The Regional Assembly brings together cooperative leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the region and provides an invaluable platform for sharing best practices, fostering collaborations, and celebrating the achievements of the cooperative movement in Asia and the Pacific.
