
ICA-AP Regional Board Meeting in Guangzhou, China
The ICA Asia and Pacific (ICA-AP) Board convened in Guangzhou, China, from 22 to 25 July 2025 for its Regional Board Meeting, hosted by the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives (ACFSMC). The meeting brought together Board Members and representatives from across the region, with participants attending in person from India, China, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Nepal, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka, while colleagues from Australia and Iran joined the proceedings online.
The four-day programme began with arrivals and registration on 22 July, followed by the official Opening Ceremony on 23 July. The ceremony featured addresses by key dignitaries including Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, President of ICA-AP, Mr. Kang Ho-dong, President of ICAO and NACF, and Mr. Adili Wubuli, President of the Board of Supervisors, ACFSMC. The session concluded with a group photo to mark the occasion.
Members deliberated on a wide range of issues, including the progress of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, preparations for the ICA-AP Regional Assembly and elections, recent activities and reports, and other key administrative matters. A strategy discussion and formal Board Meeting were held at the Shamian Room, fostering in-depth engagement among members.
Beyond the formal sessions, the programme featured a cooperative visit, a city tour, and a night cruise on the Zhujiang River, providing members with opportunities to explore Guangzhou’s cooperative landscape and cultural richness. Meals and receptions at the River Café and Silk Road Grill allowed for informal networking and strengthened regional ties.
The meeting served as a timely platform for dialogue, planning, and collaboration, reinforcing ICA-AP’s commitment to cooperative growth and regional solidarity.
