APCDP Marks One Year with All Members’ Meeting
The Asia-Pacific Cooperative Development Platform (APCDP) convened its all members’ meeting virtually on 22 September 2025, commemorating one year since the platform’s launch in September 2024. The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on progress, discuss membership expansion, and finalize a joint program for the upcoming ICA-AP Regional Assembly in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The APCDP is an initiative launched by ICA-AP under the ICA-EU Financial Framework Partnership Agreement (FFPA2) to foster exchanges and collaboration among cooperative development organisations (CDOs) active in international cooperation and development.
Members exchanged perspectives on broadening APCDP’s membership base. While recognizing the value of expansion, participants emphasized the importance of strengthening engagement among existing members to enhance visibility.
One of the members, DGRV, proposed developing a casebook of the APCDP member stories. This compilation aims to showcase diverse experiences across members, strengthen advocacy efforts, support donor engagement, and facilitate peer learning.
The draft agenda for the APCDP side event during the ICA-AP Regional Assembly was presented and approved. The Roundtable Discussion on ‘Changing Context in the Donor Community: What it Means for International Cooperation Development’ will be held on 24 November. The international development landscape is shifting with donors emphasizing climate, gender equality, youth, digitalization, blended finance, and results-based frameworks. Traditional aid models are being redefined, and cooperatives must adapt to remain visible and relevant. Building on the discussions at the ICADP meeting in Manchester this July 2025, the roundtable will explore donor priorities, funding trends, and partnership approaches, while positioning APCDP members to better align and engage.
The meeting was attended by representatives from ICA-AP, including Mr. Balasubramanian Iyer, Regional Director, and Ms. Monalisa Kashyap, Program Coordinator; DGRV (Germany) – Ms. Klaudia, Team Lead, and Mr. Korbinian Marz, Project Coordinator; NCUI (India) – Ms. Savitri Singh, Deputy Chief Executive; ANGKASA (Malaysia) – Ms. Wan Zawati and Ms. Noor Azlinn, both Managers of the International Department; Agriterra (Netherlands) – Mr. Lam Thai, Manager; and Legacoop (Italy) – Ms. Claudia Colabella, Project Manager.
As APCDP enters its second year, these discussions and initiatives highlight the platform’s commitment to building stronger cooperation, visibility, and engagement among its members in the Asia-Pacific region.
