The countdown has begun! The International Cooperative Alliance Asia and Pacific (ICA-AP) has released the programme for its 17th Regional Assembly and 12th Asia-Pacific Cooperative Forum, taking place in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from 24 to 28 November 2025.
The Assembly will open against the backdrop of the UN International Year of Cooperatives (IYC) 2025, providing a timely moment to reaffirm the movement’s shared commitment to sustainable development, resilience, and inclusive growth. In the lead-up, the Asia-Pacific Research Conference will convene scholars and policymakers from 23 to 25 November. This will be followed by the ICA-AP Regional Board Meeting on 24 November and a series of eight thematic and sectoral committee sessions on 25 November, offering a platform for in-depth exchange on critical issues.
On 26 November, the Regional Assembly and Cooperative Forum will open jointly. At the heart of the gathering is the Cooperative Forum, held under the theme “Cooperatives Build a Better World: Strengthening Resilience, Sustaining Investment, and Smart Communication.” The Forum will feature high-level plenaries, interactive breakout sessions on cooperative financing, policy, and branding, and a closing declaration charting the way forward. It will set the stage for the culmination of the IYC 2025 and Assembly on 27 November with board elections and forward-looking deliberations. The week will conclude with field visits designed to provide participants with immersive learning experiences and insights into Sri Lanka’s cooperative landscape.
Members and partners are encouraged to explore the full schedule and secure their place at this milestone event.
