
Preparations in Full Swing for the ICA-AP Regional Assembly 2025 in Sri Lanka
Preparations are progressing for the 17th ICA-AP Regional Assembly, along with the Regional Board elections and a series of side events, to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from 24 to 28 November 2025. The host organizations, the National Cooperative Council of Sri Lanka (NCCSL), the Department of Co-operative Development (DCD), SANASA Federation Limited, and the Matara District Co-operative Council, are working closely with ICA-AP to ensure a well-organized and memorable gathering for all participants.
Leaders of the Sri Lankan cooperative movement have extended a warm welcome to all delegates. Mr. G.D. Sarath Weerasiri, Chairman of NCCSL, invites cooperators from across the region to join hands in shaping the future of cooperation in Asia and the Pacific. Watch his message here.

What’s in Store for the Week
The Assembly week promises to be engaging and inspiring! The Asia-Pacific Research Conference will kick things off as a pre-event, followed by the ICA-AP Board meeting on 24 November, and committee meetings, roundtables, and sectoral sessions exploring key cooperative priorities on 25 November. On 26 November, the Regional Assembly and Cooperative Forum will open jointly under the theme “Cooperatives Build a Better World: Strengthening Resilience, Sustaining Investment, and Smart Communication.” Expect thought-provoking plenary, interactive breakout sessions, and a closing declaration to guide our shared path forward. The Assembly will conclude with board elections, strategic discussions on 27 November, and field visits showcasing Sri Lanka’s vibrant cooperative landscape on November 28.
