Showcasing Cooperative Enterprise at CIIE 2025: ICA-AP Trade and Business Committee Pavilion

The China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2025, the world’s largest import-focused trade exhibition hosted by the Chinese government, was held from 5–10 November 2025 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. Now in its 8th edition, the expo brought together more than 4,100 exhibitors from 155 countries, regions, and international organizations across over 430,000 square meters of exhibition space, reaffirming its status as a premier global platform for trade promotion, technological exchange, and economic cooperation.

Within this mega event, the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) Exhibition featured a dedicated pavilion coordinated by the ICA-AP Committee on Trade and Business, highlighting the diversity and economic contributions of cooperatives worldwide. The exhibition ran daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., involving cooperatives from 21 countries and a total of 89 exhibitors under the coordination of the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives (ACFSMC) as host.

The Committee’s pavilion brought together 11 cooperative organizations from 10 countries across Asia and beyond, showcasing a broad spectrum of cooperative products and services. These included agricultural produce, specialty foods and beverages, traditional handicrafts, textile and art-based items, sustainable tourism offerings, and community-based services. The exhibits reflected the rich cultural heritage, local resources, and social enterprise models of cooperative movements from countries such as India, Nepal, Vietnam, the Philippines, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Fiji, South Korea, Malaysia, and China.

Beyond product promotion, exhibitors actively engaged in business-matching sessions, networking activities, and knowledge exchange with international buyers, government agencies, and industry stakeholders. Participants also attended Capacity-Building Training programs conducted concurrently at the venue, strengthening competencies in international trade, marketing, and cooperative development.

Overall, the ICA-AP Committee on Trade and Business Pavilion at CIIE 2025 demonstrated the cooperative movement’s growing role in global trade through inclusive, ethical, and sustainable business practices. The collective participation underscored the capacity of cooperatives to contribute to resilient supply chains, cross-border collaboration, and equitable economic growth across regions.
