Welcoming New Members
The Philippine Chamber of Cooperatives, Inc. from the Philippines and the Malaysia Co-operative Societies Commission (MCSC) from Malaysia joined ICA as Associate Members in June 2026.
The Philippine Chamber of Cooperatives, Inc. (Coop Chamber), established in 2023, is a non-stock, non-profit organisation that serves as a national platform representing 16 Regional Cooperative Chambers and 327 primary cooperatives. It works to strengthen the cooperative movement through policy advocacy, collaboration with government and key stakeholders, and initiatives that promote sustainable community development and poverty reduction. By joining ICA, the Coop Chamber aims to deepen its engagement with the global cooperative movement, contribute to advancing the cooperative agenda across the Asia-Pacific region, and strengthen the cooperative model as a driver of social justice and inclusive economic development.
The Malaysia Co-operative Societies Commission (MCSC), formerly known as the Co-operative Development Department of Malaysia (JPK), is the statutory body responsible for the registration, regulation, supervision, and development of cooperatives in Malaysia. It plays a key role in promoting cooperative growth, preserving cooperative values and principles, advising the government on cooperative policy, and fostering an enabling environment for the sector. Through its ICA membership, MCSC seeks to engage with the global cooperative network, exchange best practices, contribute to international policy dialogue and collaborative initiatives, and advance sustainable and inclusive cooperative development.
We welcome both Coop Chamber and MCSC to the ICA-AP family and look forward to working with them to strengthen the regional cooperative movement.
