Kazakhstan rolls out 2029 action plan to strengthen agricultural cooperatives

Kazakhstan has introduced a national action plan aimed at strengthening its agricultural cooperative sector through to 2029. The initiative focuses on expanding access to finance, enhancing training and advisory support, and assessing infrastructure needs to improve overall efficiency across cooperatives.

A key component of the plan is the continued rollout of concessional financing under programmes such as Auyl Amanaty, which offers low interest loans to rural communities. The strategy is also closely linked to broader efforts to develop the livestock sector and improve rural livelihoods.

The move builds on steady growth in the country’s cooperative landscape, with the number of agricultural cooperatives rising significantly in recent years. By combining policy support with targeted investments, Kazakhstan aims to create a more resilient and inclusive Agri-cooperative ecosystem.
