Have you ever wondered how cooperatives shape people’s daily lives?

Our new global video, “A Day in the Life with Coops”, takes you on a visual journey across continents, showcasing cooperatives’ impact in our communities, from morning coffee to evening conversations. Released on 17 October to mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, the video is now available to be shared widely to raise awareness of the cooperative power beyond the cooperative community.

The video was developed as part of the Financial Framework Partnership Agreement – Phase 2 (#coops4dev🌍 partnership) between the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and the European Union. All ICA regions – Africa, the Americas, Asia and Pacific, and Europe – contributed to the creation of this collective portrait. Each region documented a local protagonist living their day with and through cooperatives, respectively, in Cebu (Philippines), Lindi (Tanzania), Valletta (Malta), and Bahia Blanca (Argentina). Their everyday routines demonstrate how cooperatives advance sustainable development through collective ownership, decent work, and shared prosperity.

Among them is Queanna Camaso from the Philippines in Asia-Pacific, a young leader and Chairperson of the Cordova Catholic Cooperative School’s Youth Laboratory Cooperative and a Board Member of the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO). Through her cooperative, Queanna promotes financial literacy and savings among students, proving how cooperative education and youth empowerment can transform futures and fight poverty from the ground up.

The video’s format simultaneously mirrors the rhythm of a full day, linking cooperator lives across time zones. This simple framing reveals a powerful truth: while lives, cultures, and landscapes may differ, the cooperative model turns shared values into action – equity, participation, and solidarity – across sectors and societies. Cooperators are connected all over.

With protagonists working in different cooperative sectors such as education, farming, renewable energy, transport, retail, language services, and digital platforms, the video honours the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, showing cooperatives’ active commitment to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
