ICA Elective General Assembly 2026 and Call for Nominations
The International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) will convene its Elective General Assembly, including ICA Board elections for the 2026â2030 term, in Panama City from 14 to 18 September 2026. Alongside the Assembly, a Global Conference and the ICA Americas General Assembly will be organised with the support from the Instituto Panameño AutĂłnomo Cooperativo (IPACOOP), and Cooperativa de Servicios MĂșltiples Profesionales, ICA member organisations.
Under the theme âBuilding Bridges: Cooperative Contributions for a Peaceful Worldâ, the 2026 ICA Global Conference will take place on 16 and 17 September 2026 at the Panama Convention Centre. The conference will bring together cooperative leaders, practitioners, policymakers, and partners from around the world to exchange ideas, share experiences, and explore the future of the global cooperative movement. The programme will include keynote sessions, panel discussions, workshops, networking opportunities, the Cooperative Law Congress, and the Coop EXPO. For more details, check the event page here.
The weekâs events will begin on 14 September with side events and meetings of ICA bodies, including regional organisations, sectoral organisations, and thematic committees, followed by the ICA Elective General Assembly on 15 September. The Call for Board Nominations was circulated to ICA members on 10 April 2026, which can be accessed here.
Prior to the September meetings, ICA will convene an online General Assembly for all Full Members on 18 June 2026 from 13:00 to 15:00 (Belgian time), in accordance with Belgian legal requirements mandating an annual General Assembly before the end of June. The meeting will cover key governance and financial matters, including amendments to ICA rules, approval of the 2025 audited accounts and 2026 budget, the re-appointment of the Statutory Auditor, and confirmation of Board mandates and new Director appointments.
